We purchased this Variscite cabochon while in Taos, NM because of its unique shape and color palette of light green with black patterning. Variscite is a hydrated aluminum phosphate mineral. It is a relatively rare phosphate mineral and is considered to be one of the rarer and lesser known collector’s gemstones available today. It is sometimes confused with turquoise. It is believed to be an excellent stone for relieving stress and anxiety. The cabochon is set in a 28 gauge .935 Argentium Sterling Silver bezel. The dendrites design was etched into 20 gauge .935 Argentium Sterling Silver. The etched areas are a blackened patina. The bail is also etched. For the wearer we have added a hand scribed unique design on the back of each pendant. This pendant measures 2-1/2″ x 1-1/8″ and will accept chains 1711, 1770, and 1781.
Our .935 Argentium Sterling Silver chains are sold separately. Please click on “Chains” category to view the selection.
