Silver Jasper Pendant

The Silver Jasper Pendant features a Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper cabochon.  First, to begin creating our piece, we etched the Art Deco design into metal.  For this, we used 20 gauge .935 Argentium Sterling Silver  Second, we set the cabochon in a 28 gauge Argentium Sterling Silver bezel.  Third, we enhanced the etched areas with a blackened patina. Finally, we wanted something special for the wearer.  So, we added a hand scribed unique design on the back of the pendant. The Silver Jasper Pendant measures 2″ x 1-1/4″.  Our .935 Argentium Sterling Silver chains are sold separately. Please click on this link “Chains” to view the selection.

The navette shape of the pendant along with the Art Deco etched design lend an elegance to this piece. The swirls of red, grey and black in the jasper cabochon allow it to complement many items in your wardrobe.

An English professor of silversmithing invented Argentium sterling silver  in 1996.   Traditional sterling silver has a pure silver content of 92.5%.  In contrast, Argentium has a pure silver content of 93.5%.  A small amount of the element germanium replaces some of the copper. As a result, this new sterling silver is highly tarnish resistant, more workable and harder than traditional sterling silver.  Many people who are allergic to traditional sterling silver can wear Argentium sterling silver without a problem.
