Silver Abstract Heart Pendant

This Silver Abstract Heart Pendant features a 10mm Select Amethyst cabochon.  We began creating this pendant by piercing the shape from 18 gauge .935 Argentium Sterling Silver.  Next, we set the Select Amethyst cabochon in a 30 gauge .935 Argentium Sterling Silver bezel.  Then, we created the bail for the pendant.  To do this, we wire wrapped a faceted Amethyst bead with .935 Argentium Sterling Silver 18 gauge wire.  Then, we enhanced the pendant with hand stippling and a blackened patina.  The next step was to add something personal for the wearer.  So, we have added a hand scribed unique design on the back of the pendant.  Finally, we polished the pendant twice.  First, we used Zam polishing compound.  Second, we used Rouge polishing compound.  The Silver Abstract Heart Pendant measures 3″ x 1″.  Our .935 Argentium Sterling Silver chains are sold separately.  Please click here “Chains” to view the selection.

This Silver Abstract Heart would be a beautiful addition to your jewelry collection.  The Select Amethyst cabochon will look great with red, black, white, and golden yellow.  This pendant can be worn for many occasions.

An English professor of silversmithing invented Argentium sterling silver  in 1996.   Traditional sterling silver has a pure silver content of 92.5%.  In contrast, Argentium has a pure silver content of 93.5%.  A small amount of the element germanium replaces some of the copper. As a result, this new sterling silver is highly tarnish resistant, more workable and harder than traditional sterling silver.  Many people who are allergic to traditional sterling silver can wear Argentium sterling silver without a problem.
