Iolite Sterling Silver Earrings

These fan shaped Iolite Sterling Silver Earrings feature 6x8mm oval Select Iolite cabochons.  Our first step in creating these earrings was etching.  We etched the Art Deco Fan Design into 20 gauge .935 Argentium Sterling Silver.  Second, we set the cabochons in handcrafted 28 gauge .935 Argentium Sterling Silver bezels. Third, we enhanced the earrings with hand stippling and a blackened patina.  Finally, we wanted something special for the wearer.  So, we added a hand scribed unique design on the backs of the earrings. The Iolite Sterling Silver Earrings measure 2″ x 1″.  We make our ear wires using .935 Argentium Sterling Silver wire.

The Iolite cabochons in these earrings are a beautiful translucent purple.  The versatility of their color would pair well with many items of your clothing.  For example, they look absolutely elegant with black.  They also work well with red and dark grey.

We sign every piece of our jewelry and stand behind our workmanship. You are welcome to use our “Contact Us” form to ask questions, make suggestions or to inquire about special requests or possible commissions.

An English professor of silversmithing invented Argentium sterling silver  in 1996.   Traditional sterling silver has a pure silver content of 92.5%.  In contrast, Argentium has a pure silver content of 93.5%.  A small amount of the element germanium replaces some of the copper. As a result, this new sterling silver is highly tarnish resistant, more workable and harder than traditional sterling silver.  Many people who are allergic to traditional sterling silver can wear Argentium sterling silver without a problem.
